Cathy joined the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra administration as General Manager in 1999. For two years she handled all the organizational details and arrangements for the RSO's three annual subscriptions concerts and three youth concerts. In the following year (2002), she served as Assistant General Manager, and continued to provide a wide array of managerial support. As Administrative Assistant to the Glen Rock Board of Education, Cathy brings a wide range of education-related project management and organizational skills to her work with the RSO. In 2001 she was instrumental in bringing Project Symphony into the Glen Rock schools, and in publicizing this remarkable program by arranging to have "Classroom Close-up NJ," a regional cable television program co-produced by NJN and NJEA, cover the RSO's program in Glen Rock. This program was received with wide critical acclaim and won an Emmy in the following year. Cathy and her husband, Rick Macri, used their wedding in June 2001 as a vehicle to raise money for the orchestra by producing a Wedding Concert which was attended by hundreds of friends, relatives and patrons and which raised close to $8,000. During her first year on the Board (2002) Cathy took on the responsibility of Ticket/Subscription Chair and audience development. She has updated the RSO brochure and has successfully increased subscriptions. She continues in this position even after being elected President of the RSO. |
