A pianist, Janet received her music degrees from Queens College and Indiana University. She has taught music at Queens College and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Janet has served as accompanist for the Choral Society of Temple Emanuel, Temple Beth Rishon, Congregation B’nai Yisrael, the North American Jewish Choral Festival, and for the past 18 years, at Temple Beth Tikvah in Wayne, NJ. Janet and her husband, violinist Manny Sosinsky, perform throughout the Metropolitan area with vocalist Naomi Miller. They can be heard on Naomi’s CDs “From Klezmer to Broadway and everything in between….” and “Love, Marriage, Children, and Liposuction.” In 2008 they performed for the Jewish community in Prague, and in 2010 they performed for the Jewish communities in Madrid and Barcelona. Janet has performed with cellist E. Zoe Hassman in various Metropolitan area venues including the Secaucus, Paramus, and Teaneck Libraries, the Richmond Hill and Forest Hills Libraries, the Maurice River Series, Temple Beth Tikvah, the Wayne 'Y' Back Stage Series, Cedar Crest Village, and Daughters of Miriam. For the past several years, Janet and Manny have provided musical entertainment for the residents of the assisted living facilities Emeritus and Sunrise, both in Wayne. They are also delighted to be one half of the recently formed group ”All Four Music” with Bonnie and Richard Berens whose performances feature voice, piano, violin, flute, and guitar. And as a footnote to all of the above, Janet also pursued a career in Information Technology working in various companies throughout New Jersey.
