Upon receiving her Masters (MS) & Doctoral (PhD) degrees in nutrition and epidemiology from Columbia University in NYC, she joined the City University of New York as an assistant professor of Health & Nutritional Sciences at Lehman College. She was the founder and president of Bergen Nutrition & Weight Centers located in Fort Lee, Westwood and Ridgewood. She is a board member of many organizations including the Tri-state American Armenian Health Professional Organization, American Cancer Society - Bergen Chapter, the Rotary Club of Ridgewood and was a past president of the Armenian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Emerson, NJ, to name a few. She has served on the Governor’s Obesity Prevention Task Force, Bergen County Nutrition & Physical Activity Council and is a member of the American Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. In addition to playing in a number of student orchestras, she has also played in quartets and community orchestras in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2000 she joined the 2nd violin section of the RSO. The last several years, she has served the RSO as president and vice president, as chairperson of the Nominations and Fundraising Committees, and presently as a board member. She has chaired very successful Dinner & Fashion Show fundraisers. She is married to Dr. Ralph C. Meyer and has two sons, Ara & Armen. She lives in Ridgewood with her family.
